TRUE STORY DRAFT WORKSHOPS

True Story DRAFT is an informal and supportive space for anyone interested in sharing or listening to early drafts of true, personal stories in a relaxed, friendly setting. We meet one Monday a month at The Kings Arms, 65 Newcomen St. and also hold online DRAFTs via Zoom.

The focus of DRAFT is shaping personal stories into short, well-crafted pieces. The workshop emphasises the craft of storytelling using a best-practices listening guide; we listen to 5-6 stories over 90 minutes, with each story followed by a group discussion.

You can sign up as either a Storyteller and share a 5-minute draft of your story to receive feedback on from the group, or as a Listener to simply listen and (if you'd like) give feedback to others. Prior signup is required for everybody as slots are limited.

For in-person DRAFT workshops we ask for a £2 or £5 donation to help cover room rental costs. Online DRAFT workshops are free, but prior signup is required.
